Join our historian at Howth Castle for an hour-long walk through the historic castle and its surrounding gardens to learn about the St. Lawrence family and the architectural beauty that is Howth Castle. With a presence in Howth since 1177, the St. Lawrence family were an important part of Irish life as Lords and Earls of Howth and their family seat has been built-on and expanded, through names like Bindon, Morrison and Lutyens, to reach its impressive form today. Having been a private family home until very recently, this is a unique place to visit and one of extreme importance in Irish history. Please be aware that the castle is awaiting restoration and is currently unfurnished but the stories and architectural features behind closed doors are no less interesting. The guided tour is approximately 60 minutes in length and can be booked online at the link below.
