Many people have been tuning in this week to watch new Netflix Series 'House of Guinness' based on the lives of Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness's four children in late 19th century Dublin. The middle of the three sons, also called Benjamin (portrayed by Fionn O'Shea), depicted as a troubled soul has a strong link to Howth Castle. On 6th September 1881, Benjamin married Lady Henrietta St. Lawrence (portrayed by Elizabeth Dulau), daughter of Thomas St. Lawrence, 3rd Earl of Howth and his wife Henrietta Digby Barfoot. The pair married in Howth with a reception at the castle. The image you see shows the wedding party on the front steps of the castle. All four of the Guinness children are present. Following Benjamin's successful career in the Royal Horse Guards, the couple settled in England where he died in 1900 and she in 1935. They had three children.
