We are currently running a small exhibition of paintings by renowned painter and architectural historian Peter Pearson here at Howth Castle. Born in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, Peter Pearson is a highly regarded painter, historian and advocate for the conservation of Ireland's architectural heritage. As a long standing member of the Dublin Civic Trust, the Irish Georgian Society and An Taisce, Peter has been instrumental in several successful campaigns to save historic buildings, notably Drimnagh Castle and Temple Bar. Peter has also published a number of books on his work including Peter Pearson's Decorative Dublin (2002) and Of Sea and Stone - Paintings 1974-2014 (2014).
This exhibition, titled 'Castles of Dublin and Other Antiquities', displays not only Peter's incredible talent for painting but also his deep passion for Ireland's built heritage. Not only will you see wonderful paintings of this castle but many other castles and historic buildings in the Dublin area. Entry to the exhibition is €5 per person.
