Culinary Experiences at Howth Castle

Located in the original castle kitchen, Howth Castle Cookery School provides hands-on culinary experiences in a truly unique setting. The kitchens are fitted with state-of-the-art Gaggenau appliances to ensure a premium, professional-standard cooking experience in an inspiring and historic setting.

Cookery courses are led by professional chefs and run all year round. Weekend, evening and daytime classes are available in a range of culinary themes, ranging from baking and classic Irish dishes to desserts, world street foods and seafood.

Catch & Cook Fishing Experience

One of the most popular Howth experiences offered at Howth Castle Cookery School is the Catch & Cook Experience. The day starts with two hours of fishing around Ireland’s Eye and then moves to the castle kitchen to prepare and cook your catch and a selection of local seafood. To round off your day, you’ll enjoy your creations (and dessert) in our beautiful garden room.

Scenic Walks

Visitors to Howth can also take time to wander the estate’s peaceful walking routes, where you can enjoy spectacular views from Muck Rock across the surrounding coastline. A visit to one of Ireland’s most impressive megalithic tombs, Aideen's Grave, is also a must and is steeped in myth and history.

Howth Castle Estate Location

From Dublin Airport:

Exit at M50 following the signpost to Malahide. Follow R139 through Baldoyle to R809. Join the Coast road R106, then left on R105 to Howth. The entrance to Howth Castle Estate is on the right, just before you enter the village.

By Car:

From Dublin City Centre, head east on North Quays, continuing onto Amiens Street and along North Strand Road to Fairview. Continue straight along R105 coast road through Clontarf Road towards Sutton Cross and then straight on to Howth.

By Bus:

No.6 and H3 from Dublin City Centre see www.dublinbus.ie

By Dart (local train service):

30 minutes from Dublin City Centre heading north to Howth. Turn right when you exit the train station, walk 5-10 minutes and the entrance to Howth Castle Estate is on the left.

Join internationally acclaimed food writer Donna Hay for an intimate evening in the stunning surroundings of Howth Castle. In conversation with Donal Skehan, Donna will discuss her new book Sunshine, Lemons & Sea Salt, sharing insights into her creative process and approach to modern cooking.
