As the days grow shorter and the woodlands turn to bare branches and frosty mornings, Howth Castle takes on a quieter, more atmospheric charm. Our public tour season may have ended, but there are still plenty of ways to enjoy the castle and estate this winter.
Although Public tours have finished for 2026 and will resume in spring 2027, private tours are still available on request.
Led by Howth Castle historian Daniel Eglington-Carey, these guided walks take you through the historic castle and its surrounding gardens. Daniel shares a fascinating insight into the St Lawrence family, who made Howth their home from 1177, and the rich architectural heritage of the castle they built and lived in for over 800 years.
